Guide to Choosing Car Cable Ties Types

The selection of suitable car cable ties should be based on specific application scenarios and performance requirements, mainly divided into three categories: nylon cable ties, stainless steel cable ties, and high-strength materials. Each type has its own emphasis on temperature range, strength, and durability.

1. Nylon zip ties: preferred for daily and ordinary scenarios

Material characteristics: The mainstream material used is nylon 66 (PA66), which has a wide temperature range (-40 ° C to 90 ° C), good acid resistance, corrosion resistance, and insulation properties, and is not easily aged. Suitable for fixing wiring harnesses inside vehicles, wiring in the cab, and other non high temperature areas, with easy installation and low cost.
Selection suggestion: PA66 material has high mechanical strength (20% -30% higher than PA6), low water absorption rate (about 7%), and is more suitable for humid or dusty environments. For example, the card round hole or card waist round hole cable tie is suitable for fixing the main wire harness and can effectively prevent shock and displacement.

2. Stainless steel zip ties: High strength requirement scenarios
Advantages: The tensile strength far exceeds that of nylon material, with better corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, suitable for parts such as engine compartments and chassis that are greatly affected by external forces or high temperatures. The spray coated stainless steel version further enhances protection and can be tightly tied to thick sheet metal (such as 0.8-2.0mm)
Applicable scenarios: fixing the wiring harness in the front cabin of automobiles or complex irregular wiring. The bolt type cable tie can firmly clamp on the edge of the sheet metal to prevent wire harness wear.

3. Reinforced materials: extreme high temperatures or special environments
Special for high temperature: polyamide 46 (PA46) tie is recommended for high temperature areas such as engine compartment (continuous 130 ° C, short-term 195 ° C), with a temperature upper limit of 150 ° C or above, and strong aging resistance
Adding glass fiber to PA66 (proportion 25% -30%) can increase tensile strength by 50%, reduce thermal expansion, and is suitable for long-term high temperature exposure
Waterproof and dustproof design: Split cable tie with internal tooth structure, suitable for dust-proof and waterproof areas (such as rear bumper), with a width of up to 35mm, capable of tying thick wire harnesses (within 34mm)

Guide to Choosing Car Cable Ties Types

Comprehensive recommendations
Priority Nylon 66: PA66 cable ties are preferred for most car interior fixation needs, with high cost-effectiveness and easy operation
High temperature reinforcement material: PA46 or fiberglass PA66 is used in the engine compartment to ensure heat resistance and stability.
High load stainless steel: Choose stainless steel zip ties for the chassis or load-bearing parts, and use buckles to assist in fixing for greater reliability. Regularly check the aging condition of cable ties to avoid loose wiring harnesses.
